Steel Cutting

Fiber laser cutting machine is a high-precision processing equipment with fiber laser as the core, mainly used for precision cutting of metal plates such as stainless steel and carbon steel.

 


* Stainless steel: 

Fiber laser cutting machines can cut stainless steel plates. Stainless steel is a major application area of fiber laser cutting, and high-purity nitrogen gas is usually used as an auxiliary gas to reduce edge oxidation and obtain smooth cutting surfaces.

Cutting principle:

1. Laser melts metal, and high-pressure nitrogen gas blows the molten metal liquid away from the cutting seam.

2. Due to nitrogen being an inert gas, it does not undergo chemical reactions with molten metal, thus maintaining the "original appearance" of the incision and preventing oxidation.




 


* Carbon steel: 

Carbon steel is the most skilled, economical, and efficient cutting material for fiber laser cutting machines. Oxygen is usually used as an auxiliary gas, and attention should be paid to the possibility of deformation during thick plate processing.

Cutting principle:

1. Laser locally heats the material to its ignition point, and undergoes a violent exothermic oxidation reaction (similar to combustion) with oxygen, generating slag. At the same time, the high-speed oxygen flow blows the slag away from the cut.

2. This "oxidation cutting" method has high energy utilization efficiency, fast speed, and large cutting thickness.
